Instructions for Authors:


      The Bulletin of the Veterinary Institute in Pulawy publishes quarterly original articles on all aspects of veterinary science and related subject, completed in the National Veterinary Research Institute and in other scientific centres. Case reports are not accepted for the publication. The Bulletin is published in British English. Authors from non-English speaking countries are requested to have their manuscript corrected by someone proficient in English language.
      Manuscripts should be submitted by e-mail or on CD. The text should be written in WORD (printed in TIMES NEW ROMAN CE, format A4, point 10, with 1.5 spaces). Manuscripts should not exceed 6 pages including figures and tables. Manuscripts should not contain space out words and underlining. Latin terms should be written in italic letters.
      Tables, figures, and photographs corresponding to the above standards should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. Illustrations should be of high quality. No bold letters and lines in figures and tables are accepted.
      Only tables with essential horizontal lines and figures prepared without frames will be accepted. All figures and tables should be inserted in appropriate place in the text.

      Manuscripts should be organised in the following sections:
1. title (in the centre, bold letters, point 16),
2. the authors. full names (in the centre, point 11),
3. the affiliations and e-mail address (in the centre),
4. Abstract (up to 12 lines, point 9) containing aim of the study, methods, results and principal conclusion,
5. Key words (up to 5),
6. text containing:

  1. introduction - short, concise and clear statement on the background, purposes, and significance of the work,
  2. Material and Methods - details regarding the methods used should be written only in the case of new or modified methods,
  3. Results - statements without interpretations or evaluation must be presented; in addition, the statement must include the most significant results presented in tables and illustrations,
  4. Discussion - this section must discuss and evaluate the results obtained and compare them with those presented by others,
  5. Acknowledgments - included as needed,
  6. References - should be listed alphabetically and their number limited to the minimum.
    The following styles for references are obligatory:
    1. Chmes I., Wilson K.C., Ander G.J.: Clinical and radiological correlation in asbestos - exposed patients. Am Rev Resp Dis 1991, 9, 260-267.
    2. De Vitto M.J., Birnbaum L.S.: Toxicology of dioxins. In: Dioxins and Health, edited by A.Schecter, Plenum, New York, 1994, pp. 139-162.

    Article titles should be cited in original or in official transliteration. Journal titles should be abbreviated according to the Index Medicus. Number of the cited references should be placed in the text in round brackets.
Manuscripts not conforming to the instructions will be send back for reformatting.

     Manuscript going to press will be sent to the authors for correction.
     The Editorial Board is responsible for reviews of the manuscripts, corrections
and giving refusal.

  1. Common abbreviations to be used in this journal:
    s = second (s),   min = minute (s),   h = hour (s),   d = day (s)
  2. Use in the text: Table (not Tab.) and Fig. or Figs (not Figure [s])
  3. Use only round brackets
  4. The title of sections should be written in bold letters in the centre, e.g.:
                                        Material and Methods
  5. Subtitle should be written in bold letters, e.g.:
         Bacteriology. The routine methods were...


Manuscripts accepted for publication (after sign of author's proof-reading) will be charged of 250 euro or 800 PLN. Manuscripts containing colour illustrations will be charged of 350 euro or 1 200 PLN.
The payment, with note "manuscript No. .... charge", should be made into bank account mentioned below:

    Bank charges are covered by the customer.
    The authors are requested to send the following data necessary for making out the invoice: name of authors or institution, tax identification number (in the case of institution), and address.


Annual subscription rate is 200 euro (50 euro per piece). Payment should be sent, with a note "Bulletin" to:

Authors are requested to suggest three potential reviewers from different institutions than the author's one.
